Scott joined the Marines in 1976 in Dayton, Ohio. He did his basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island in South Carolina. He then received his Ammunition Technician (2311) training at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama before reporting to his first duty station, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Scott then spent 1977-1979 in Asia, mostly at Camp Henoko, Okinawa. He also participated in training exercises in Korea and Japan before returning to Camp Lejeune to finish out his enlistment in 1980. Scott was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant (E-5).

Today, Scott serves our community in Alternative Energy and is the co-inventor/co-founder of Solar Roadways. Scott is an electrical engineer (MSEE) with over 25 years of industry experience. This includes serving as the Director of Research and Development at a manufacturing facility in Ohio (developing their line of products for over 12 years), a voting member of NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association), and developing several networked control systems from the ground up. Scott has multiple patents and his hardware and software have been sold internationally.
